A Message from the Principal

I extend a warm welcome to you and your family from Neerim District Rural Primary school.

I am very proud to be the principal of this wonderful community-based school. It is a privilege to work with our students, staff and families to make our school the very best it can be.

At Neerim District Rural Primary School, we aim to create a safe, nurturing yet challenging environment that is built on relationships: developing the whole student- emotionally, socially and academically. We care and respect each of our students for who they are, valuing uniqueness, supporting and creating opportunities for individual’s, strengths to shine!

Our experienced and passionate teachers ensure students grow in confidence and capabilities and that they develop skills for the rapidly changing world. We develop in each of our students a mindset of curiosity, enquiry, inclusiveness, resilience and problem-solving dispositions. In addition to this we encourage our students to take risks with their play and learning. Step outside their comfort zone and really challenge themselves.

Teachers and support staff have a clear focus on delivering a differentiated curriculum to each student ensuring that despite a multi-aged classroom, all students are learning at their point of need. We are extremely lucky that our unique, small school setting, allows us to provide outstanding student-teacher ratios. In addition to this we are incredibly grateful for our unique bush setting.

Bush play and natural playgrounds offer awesome benefits for students. Exploring these spaces boosts creativity, connects students with the natural world, promoting well-being and nurturing a lifelong love for the environment. Climbing trees and scrambling over boulders is also just lots of fun!

At NDRPS our vision is for every child to leave school confident, respectful and with a deep sense of care for self, others and communities. We want our students to grow up proud of who they are and where they come from. We are open and invite our wider community on this learning journey to ensure every student can achieve this vision.
